Imagine graduating college with a pretty powerful degree that starts you at $100,000 + salary per year. Now, imagine, you get a few years into that lifestyle and living above the median for most of the country, only to discover, that’s not what you want to do.
In this case, our guest today had to make some tough choices deciding whether to accept the toxicity of a workplace making good money, or leave. He was met with opposition from family initially only to come to one conclusion about their lineage.
Kyle Reed is the Founder of The Timberline Marketing Agency and holds a Metallurgic Degree specializing in working with specific metals. The early part of his career took him to a corporate position which led to rising in the ranks to management where he was making $150K plus per year, but the toxicity of his work environment inspired him to create a marketing side hustle that exploded into his entrepreneurial journey.
Today, Pedro and Kyle discuss early beginnings and their shared backgrounds of living better lives thanks to the work their parents had done before them. They both share how they had internal and external battles to fight with themselves, their family members, spouses, and friends. Kyle shares his fast-paced lifestyle as a farm kid racing motocross until injuries took him out in high school.
They examine the question and importance of college as Kyle shares how he flunked out his first semester. Pedro shares the breaking point at which he decided to leave Guatemala and head north to the United States for a more fulfilling life.
They dive into family dynamics, being married, and how they approached including their spouses by inviting them to come on this crazy wild journey of entrepreneurism.
